Some snaps taken during my Break

On Tuesday 22nd September 2009 I begun my 12 day trip to track down as many Ex Lothian Buses Alexander R-Types and Royales.

There were a few places I didn't venture, simply due to being off Route.

I hope you enjoy looking at these photos, I covered a massive 2289 Miles in my Car to try and let you know that what ended in Edinburgh on Saturday 29th August, wasn't "The End" but just the Beginning of a new journey for these fine Machines!

This Collection will house any Odds & Ends

This outing marked the end of the Bus Tours and from october returns to indoors.

This month we had the pleasure of Edinburgh Coach Lines, Plaxton Centro SN09 FUY, driven by Driver Graham.

With too many photos appearing in the other folder, I have created a 3rd folder!

I have simply named this Collection as 'The End'. Saturday 29th August 2009 marked The End of Traditonal Madder & White and of Step Entrance operation in the Lothian Buses fleet.

Unfortunately no photos in the collection feature the Last Buses operated. But it features all Madder & White Buses that I did manage to photo.

Had a little trip on one of ECL's new Centros, very nice, and the Driver polite, chatty and friendly.

Also took a few other photos at new locations

I was on the hunt for some madder & White, and it was turning unsuccessful, so First had to do, and well they impressed!

But then 252 appeared, I say no more!

Today saw Edinburgh Coach Lines put there new MAN 12.240/Plaxton Centros on the road, for the public to see, albeit on Rail Replacement from Haymarket to Bathgate

So I popped over to Haymarket to grab some pics and here they are.

On Monday 27th July these Centros will commence operation of the 13 Lochend to Craigleith, after winning the Contract from City of Edinburgh Council, with Lothian Buses being the operator until 25th July.

As can be seen these buses carry a VERY striking livery.

I had to pop through to Edinburgh today to take my car to the Garage to get its Timing Belts changed, so spent the morning grabbing some photos

I took photos of the Shuttle Buses oerating from Edinburgh to Balado on the Saturday & Sunday.

In between taking TITP photos , i nabbed a few passing coaches and buses

This months outing provided Edinburgh Tours, "The Edinburgh Tour" E300 MSG (240), on its first outing of 2009!

We took a spin out to Eastfiled Terminus, then onto North Berwick along the coast road. Nice weather all round, and a few near misses from the Trees!

Whilst taking pictures of the Highland Show buses, I also snapped a few others as the passed.

This Collection focuses on the vehicles used for this years Royal Highland Show held at ingliston Showground.

This year was the final year where Step Entrance Vehicles are to be used, with the imminent withdrawal of the remaining Alexander Royale/Volvo Olympians.

11 Royales were used on this years service, with 3 of them being re-instated after being withdrawn a few weeks ago!

Over the 4 day period also saw use of Low Floor Volvos and Tridents, to cope with Demand!

A week on backshifts, so I popped through slightly earlier to nab some pics, and some taken whilst on my breaks

Thursday 4th June saw me joining the Edinburgh Transport Group. On there first Bus Run of 2009. And we had the pride of the Lothian Buses fleet, Alexander Royale/Volvo Olympian 281 (P281 PSX)

Popped over to Edinburgh to get as many Royales as possible, and I got a good few, but ran out of time, due to needing to get to the ETG gathering!

Stagecoach invited me to attend the Launch of their new Enviro300/MAN 18.240's at Fife Leisure Park, Halbeath.

My intentions were to photo the new Gemini 2's, I nabbed a few, and had a trip on 309 and 927!

There are also MANY other photos taken!

After my shift I spent a few hours taking photos starting at bank Street, working my way to St Andrew Square/George Street

I was on 11's unfortunatelt, so I couldn't go and have a trip on one of these fine machines, but I nabbed a few pics whilst on layover at Fairmilehead or whilst stationary at bus Stops!

Popped throught to Edinburgh today (Yes Im hear 5 days a week driving these things!) to get photos of some buses that are on diversion

A lot of changes happened with the 1 & 21 going Single Deck. The 22 going Double Deck. A lot of the Eclipses New to Central have now moved onward to Longstone displacing newer Darts to Marine. Also a number of Tridents moved from Central to Marine

Most of these pics are taken outside Dunfermline Bus Station. J198 YSS and the M&W Evolution were taken in Glenrothes
